Look at How Far You've Come

On the weekend I was reading about the gap in our mental state and how things actually really are. Very rarely do we live in the present moment. We're often running around worrying about things that have already happened and over analysing them and then running through in our mind everything that we've got to do in the time ahead.

This morning I had one of those amazing moments where I actually stopped and realised that life's changed. For such a long time it was a daily struggle. For years upon years there was so much hard work with very little return. There was so much sacrifice of time and money, so much resilience needed in the hope that we would build a company worthwhile and create our ideal life.

We've been thinking in that 'battlers' mentality for such a long time that it's really quite a challenge to break out of that and go, you know what, this is it. This is what we worked for and it's pretty darn fantastic.

This morning I flew to Sydney for a couple of great meetings. In one I got the chance to meet and talk with some of my all time business superstars and mentors. Such a surreal moment of seeing so many people that I've only ever read about and watched interviews right there in front of me. I would love to have asked them questions all day long!

I then met with the Room To Read charity where we finalised the details for our charity contribution this year. As Begin Bright is all about making an impact and enriching lives through education, we wanted to extend that beyond just the children that come to our centre. We'll now be building a school through Room To Read in Laos! The Begin Bright Franchise owners will be taking a trip next year to see the completed construction and spend a day with the children. It's such an amazing opportunity and one I'm so thankful to be able to be a part of.

I've been smiling all day. Smiling with the realisation that all of a sudden life is exactly how I imagined it would be. Filled to the brim with love, laughter, creation, achievement and fun. There has never been a better time in history to be a business woman in Australia and I feel like we have a certain responsibility to take the opportunities that we've been blessed with and absolutely rock the world!

Now to jump back on the plane away from Sydney chaos and get home in time to see my boys for dinner in our sleepy little haven.
