Episode 150 of Her Empire Builder Podcast is all about when things in life go pear shaped and what we can do to ensure that those traumatic events don't define who we are or how we live our life.

If you've followed along with my socials recently, or read my newsletter, you will see that my youngest son Cohen had an accident when trying to make a flame thrower with a spray paint can and a lighter. I won't go into the whole accident in this blog, you can listen to the full episode here: tinatower.com/150

What I did want to talk about is how fortunate and grateful I am to be working in the online course business space, where my business can still run without me needing to physically be there. Sure, I can't step away without notice all the time, but knowing that I have the flexibility to be able to if the most important people in my life need me to is certainly comforting.

These types of events in life often puts so many things into perspective. What I have realised too, is that in order to get back on the horse and continue to show up and serve and honour the responsibilities you have in life, requires a lot of self awareness and self care. It also shouldn't take a tragic event to make me realise that I need to look after myself all the time and not just when a crisis happens! It's like anything in life, if you work hard at something and build your muscles, then you will be able to deal with the hard things that may come your way. What happened to me, is that at the time of Cohen's accident, I fell into the same old pattern of overwork that I so often find. I was exhausted, tired and depleted before the accident had even happened. When it came time to emotionally handle the situation, I had no reserves left. I was fried. My goal is to not let it get to this type of overwork and crisis, before I start looking after myself - and I want this to be a reminder to you as well. I want you to be really conscious about that.

If you have dealt with trauma, or are still dealing with it - I want you to know that I am sending you so much love. I want you to look after yourself, so that you can show up for you, your family and your clients and get your body & mind back to it's beautiful, bright and brilliant self.

Thank you so much to everyone who reached out with their live and support over the last 5 weeks. I appreciate it more than you can ever imagine, and I am so lucky to be surrounded by such fiercely loving and kind people.
